Along the Nahal El-Al in the Golan
Service Description
The Nahal El-Al, located in the Golan Heights, is a beautiful stream that flows into the Sea of Galilee. This 6 km trek along the Nahal El-Al passes through unique volcanic landscapes and features two stunning waterfalls: The Black Waterfall (Mapal Shachor) – A striking cascade over dark basalt rock. The White Waterfall (Mapal Lavan) – A graceful fall over bright white limestone. The Nahal El-Al trail is an easy hike offering panoramic views of the Golan Valley, with opportunities to swim at the base of the waterfalls. In the area, we also visit the ancient synagogue of Ein Keshatot. Ein Keshatot was a Jewish village where a large synagogue was built in the 5th century CE. The village was destroyed in the earthquake of 749 CE, leading to its abandonment by its Jewish inhabitants. The reconstruction of the synagogue was completed in the 2000s, restoring this important heritage site. This hike along the Nahal El-Al perfectly combines nature, history, and relaxation in one of the Golan’s most beautiful valleys.
