About Sivan

Who was Sivan?

Sivan was born in Tel Aviv in 2003. He grew up in Ra'anana, a city where he flourished surrounded by unforgettable friends and family. From a reserved child, he grew into a handsome young man whose future was bound to be bright. Sivan stood out for his extraordinary physical and mental abilities. Athletic and powerful, he excelled in all disciplines, especially basketball. He exuded a calm and composure that allowed him to always remain in control of the situation. Sivan was, in everyone's eyes, "unbeatable." Sivan was funny, mischievous, and a joker. At the same time, he exuded strength and an iron will accompanied by true humility. In just 20 years, he accomplished what few people achieve in a lifetime by giving his life its full meaning.

Sivan in the army

Upon enlisting, Sivan was selected to join the Egoz commando unit. In a context of very demanding military training, he gained the respect and friendship of his brothers in arms, who would become his lifelong friends. His physical and mental strength, coupled with a heart of gold, drove him to always put the needs of his team before his own. On October 7, 2023, after the terrible terrorist attack, Sivan fought to liberate Kibbutz Kissufim. He and his team saved many lives. In January 2024, while fighting in Gaza, Sivan had to be urgently evacuated in the middle of the night to undergo appendicitis surgery in Beersheba. He then remained at home for 5 weeks recovering. For us, his family and friends, it was a gift from heaven to have him with us. Sivan chose to return to combat in February. On March 29, 2024, in Gaza, Sivan and his team were hit by enemy fire. Sivan was mortally wounded and taken to the hospital. Thanks to his strength, he survived for two days—two days that allowed us to be with him and then, sadly, to part ways. He died of his injuries on March 31. Sivan's heart of gold, his humility, and his love of life will remain forever etched in our memory, as he sacrificed his life to protect those of his brothers.
